Ingredients of Chocolate Pound Cake
- Prepare 120 gm of unsalted Butter.
- You need 3/4 cup of Sugar.
- You need 2.5 tbsp of cocoa powder.
- It's 100 ml of milk.
- You need 20 gm of semi sweet chocolate.
- It's 2 of Egg yolks.
- Prepare 2 of Egg Whites.
- It's 100 gm of All Purpose Flour.
- You need 1 tbsp of corn Flour.
- It's 1/8 tsp of Salt.
- You need 11/4 tsp of baking powder.
- You need 3-4 tbsp of Nuts for garnish (optional).
Chocolate Pound Cake instructions
- Preheat oven to 180, line the loaf pan.
- Sieve flour, baking powder and salt and keep it aside.
- Melt butter over low heat in a saucepan, add milk, sugar and Cocoa powder. Bring to boil, switch off.
- In a bowl, add semi sweet chocolate, add the above cocoa syrup to it reserving 1/2 cup cocoa syrup aside. Stir the chocolate and keep it aside. This is chocolate glaze.
- Whip egg whites until foamy and peaks form. Keep it aside.
- In a bowl, mix egg yolks and add to reserved cocoa syrup. Mix well. Incorporate dry ingredients slowly and blend well.
- Add whipped egg whites to batter and blend. Pour the batter to prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 25-35 minutes until done. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, demould.Pour the chocolate glaze over the top of the cake. Garnish with nuts.cake should be completely cool before serving. Cut and serve.
